Repetative Strain Injuries

Repetitive Strain Injury or RSI occurs as a result of physical movement over a long period of time. It affects the tendons, nerves and muscles and usually happens when your job involves carrying out the same task repeatedly.

RSI is a term used to describe a number of conditions caused by repetitive movements such as carpal tunnel syndrome, thoracic outlet syndrome, trigger finger and thumb and reflex sympathetic dystrophy.

Work can be classed as repetitive when the same muscle groups are being used over and over again and for lengthy periods. They can affect any part of the body but, most commonly, the back, neck, shoulders, wrists and hands are affected.

Compensation claims with Mercury Legal with regard to repetitive strain injury are completed in the same way as any personal injury case.

Your employer has the same duty of care to ensure you do not suffer from RSI as they do with any other injury – if they have not complied then you may well be able to make a successful claim.

Mercury Legal will pursue your claim at no upfront cost to you and you will not have to pay anything if your claim is unsuccessful through no fault of your own. We operate with the highest levels of customer care and we will represent your case professionally, managing all of the paperwork along the way.
