Asbestosis / Mesothelioma

Asbestos-related conditions result from exposure to asbestos fibres and can appear up to 20 years after the inhalation and subsequent retention of the substance. The broad term is asbestosis but there are individual conditions such as mesotheliums, fibrosis, lung cancer and pleural thickening.

Asbestosis is chronic inflammation of the lungs following the inhalation of asbestos resulting in shortness of breath, respiratory failure and even death. The condition is progressive so it will get worse over time and can be identified by way of an X-Ray, CT/MRI-Scan or a lung function test.

Mesothelioma is often caused by exposure to asbestos fibres and is a cancer of the lining that covers most of the organs in the body. The cancer affects the chest and abdomen and early diagnosis is difficult. For this reason, it is important that you contact Mercury Legal about a claim as soon as you been advised of the condition.

If you or someone close to you has been in any way affected by Asbestos Fibrosis, or Pulmonary Interstitial Fibrosis, as a result of exposure to asbestos at work you could well be able to make a claim for compensation.

If you have tragically lost a family member due the results of asbestos inhalation you may still be able to take legal action. Our team of specialist industrial disease solicitors will assess your situation and help you along the inquest process.

At Mercury Legal, we are well aware that this will be an extremely upsetting time for you and are careful to act with the utmost compassion. Please pick up the phone as we are here to help.

We will pursue your claim at no upfront cost to you and you will not have to pay anything if your claim is unsuccessful through no fault of your own. We operate with the highest levels of customer care and will represent your case professionally, managing all of the paperwork along the way.
